I AM STILL ALIVE

yes!!! after long weeks, or months i think (sorry i lost track of dates) i finally was able to write again here. i may have gone invisible in the cyberspace for quite sometime, but hey I'M STILL ALIVE. dissappointed at the sight of me breathing? well, sorry you didn't get your wish. bitches live long, you know. haha! but don't worry this new class schedule in UP and the subjects i'm taking right now are slowly killing me. really.. they're just so heavy and the worse part is that you don't get to rest in the middle of the week like we used to when we have our wednesdays off. haayyy..

know why i decided to be visible again? the reason may seem shallow and stupid, but last night while i was listening to the radio (yes, i still do everynight) there was this cheesy boy-band love song that was played and while listening to it i was really laughing because though i can't remember the title of the song or the name of the band who sang it, i know the lyrics! i was singing along till the last note! okay, i know i'm nutty but isn't it nice to feel hearing such old songs again even if you can't remember what year (or era) it was first heard on the airwaves, which only reminds how old you already are, or even without remembering the title or the singer the words are still on your head, or even how you laugh at yourself now thinking you fell for that stupid sounding cheesy love song?

i still don't know the title of the song right now and i haven't researched about it even. i just want to keep the curiosity on my head until i figure out what the title really was. so the chorus goes like this:
it's true, i mean it
from the bottom of my heart
yeah it's true
without you i would fall apart..

boyband fanatics out there i know you guys know this! haha

by the way, i hope i can post pictures soon. i'm just trying to compile it for a one time big time uploading hehe. and too bad, naerase ko yung mga phone pics ko, and most of them i haven't saved elsewhere yet. huhuhu

hope this won't be the last! arrivederci!

what's your beer personality?

You Are Bud Light

You're not fussy when it comes to beer. If someone hands it to you, you'll drink it.
In fact, you don't understand beer snobbery at all. It all tastes the same once you're drunk!
You're an enthusiastic drinker, and you can often be found at your neighborhood bar.
You're pretty good at holding your liquor too - you've had lots of experience.

what should your new year's resolution be?

Your New Year's Resolutions

where should you go to college?

Take this test!
Ooh la la, smarty pants! Ready to choose one of the Ancient Eight? You've got what it takes to make it all the way to the top, and that's why you've got Ivy League written all over you. You don't have to be rich; you don't even need the best grades — you just have to really want it. And you do. Determined and intellectual, you're proud of yourself and what you've achieved, but that's only the beginning.

Whether you're buried in books, or studying up on the latest news, you're the type of person who craves knowledge and has the drive to get things done. Of course, you know how to relax too; otherwise you'd be in the White House already. Still having your doubts? Believe us, with your passion for life and your winning personality, you'll be a shoo-in. Oh, and a few good connections never hurt either. Good luck!

which horror movie are you?

Take this test!
It always seems so safe in a hotel room, with the dead-bolted doors, security guards, and that concierge ready to help with your every need. But if you've seen Psycho, you know that's not always the case. There sure are some crazy people out there, but most of them seem so normal. Is your mind playing tricks on you? No way!

Just like your horror movie match, you're seen by others as smart and thoughtful. If it's psychological, creative, or just plain interesting, you'll be all over it. So on the next rainy day, check into the Bates Motel and have a good scare!

how would you spend money, if u have lots of it?

Take this test!
You're probably no stranger to a little break now and then, but wouldn't it be great to pull out all the stops on vacation? So, if you had a fortune, you'd definitely spend it on seeing the sweetest sights on seven continents. From hiking the mountains of Peru to strolling down the boulevards of Paris, you'd love the chance to experience all the things the world has to offer, especially if they're totally luxe.

But you don't need mad money to indulge now and then. It might just take something as small as a three-day weekend or a sunny afternoon in the park to make you feel like (you've won) a million bucks. So the next time you're at home staring at the walls, it might be a good time to plan your perfect trip — who knows, you might just be able to make it happen some day!

pag haggard ka, at walang maisip na title.

haayy..just got home a few minutes ago. too bad, i will miss this year's lantern parade, the first time since i entered UP. but oh well, being in my home is far more important.(emo, haha). im still feeling some body pains due to the long hours of sitting in a bus. i didn't have a good sleep actually, i think it's because it has been a long time since i took a bus this long, parang hindi nasanay ang katawn ko, plus i had a hot seatmate! haha.. i also travelled all by myself, im glad i took a book with me so i read some pages during stop overs and while waiting.

pik had a sort of christmas dinner and kris kringle last night, it also was a despedida party for me(as if im never coming back, hehe). i was happy with the gift i received from trish, paulo coelho's witch of portobello which i've been really dying to buy, but found it very expensive and im still waiting and hoping that they republish something smaller, like his (coelho's) previous books. that's why im so thankful that trish chose it among the things i wrote in my wishlist. it was a fun dinner. it was sort of learning experience as well to some of us. for jacqui, she learned that tosh is short for the old spaghetti house. for makat, you need not ride a tricycle when you're going to tosh and you're from banco de oro. haha.. it was super fun. we also made tambay in starbucks, and went home afterwards.

i will be spending christmas and new year here in masbate, like i usually do. i am excited to see my friends. i hope this would be a truly merry christmas for me. i am also excited to see someone. hehe.. can't wait.

till here.

A Ride Back to the Past

It’s been so long since I wrote an entry here. I am glad that finally I was able to find time to sit and type some words today. I’ve been just so busy and feeling lazy to put my thoughts into writing these past few days and weeks. Since the last time I wrote a blog here was before I came home to the province for the sembreak, I just want to share something I wrote while on my way back to Manila. Actually, I was thinking about this while I’m inside the car going to Masbate City to catch my flight back to Manila..

A Ride Back to the Past

It has been my habit to stare out the window of a car or a bus while traveling. May it be a serene provincial landscape, a panoramic view of the mountains, or a busy street in Manila, I don’t want to keep away my eyes because I feel that if I do, I might miss something really wonderful.
So while I am preparing myself for this one hour trip, I can’t help but stare out the window, as if memorizing every detail of this place that I will be again leaving. Of course this is what I always do every time I go home for vacation, but today I realized something I never noticed before, that on this few kilometers stretch of road from our town to masbate city, lie more than a dozen elementary public schools. Maybe I didn’t take cognizance of them before because the previous times I went home, it’s either on a weekend or these schools are on vacation already as well.
As I look at the kids, some of them walking to school, others are playing on the school grounds; some are doing their flag ceremonies, I can’t help but smile and reminisce those six long years of my stay in grade school. Though our school is much bigger and there are more students, they resemble the kind of things I experienced in grade school. And suddenly things from elementary days flashed back in my memory.
There’s the long walk from our house to school, the few meters I used to traverse not because there was no one to accompany me or give me a ride, but because I really prefer to do this because I wanted to see how the people spend their everyday lives, and the hope of seeing a friend that I can walk with together to school. I would usually make it a point to go to school early, so as not to miss the “chikahan” before the class starts of the flag ceremony. Or if you’re late, there’s no need to worry since there’s still the “group chikahan” while cleaning the spots of the school that each group is obliged to clean everyday (that’s how it is in public schools). I can never forget our morning rituals which took more than fifteen minutes of our time. There’s the praying of the Our father, singing of the Nat’l Anthem and the raising of the flag, Panunumpa sa Watawat, and the exercise routine to the tune of “mag exercise tayo tuwing umaga” by Yoyoy Villame. How can I forget this when this had been routinely done everyday, five times a week, for the whole school year, for six years? And just a piece of trivia, that song of Yoyoy Villame was already used during my eldest sister’s (who is 11 years older than me) elementary days, and until now when you pass by our school, you would still hear the same song on the background while the students are stretching out their hands and bending their bodies.
There’s also the Seksyon Hall (Session Hall), where we used to play and fight with each other afterwards and the teacher who locks the door when you come late in grade 3. The swing, see-saws, slides in grade 1. The teacher who throws balls, erasers, and whatever she can grasp at students if she finds out they’re not listening or just so talkative in grade 2. There’s the ginataan which is sold by our adviser, and the first boy scout camping in grade 4. The gardens where we used to plant vegetables and compete with each other whether who will harvest the most saleable products, the farm at the back of the school where we used to play and climb trees and has been a witness to many secret meetings, our adviser who dismisses us late just because she has been walking around and had forgotten that she left us in the classroom; the baseball, handball, and whatever game you can play with a ball, the war between cliques, the boy scouts the girls cried for, and the sports fest where I met him. All those happened in grade 5.
The clay throwing in the garden, the home economics room with a bedroom, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen plus the jams and sandwiches for sale at the side, the big fat teacher with a small voice, the codenames my best friend and I gave our classmates and even our teachers, the cult thing where we were hypnotized (that became controversial), the love teams, the high school crushes, the ball that fell right on his face, the achievement test where we practice the best ways to cheat, the picnic with our adviser, and the graduation that ended all those…
Truly, elementary days have long been gone, but those memories still linger in me and always will be for the rest of my days. Those are things that I will never get tired of reminiscing over and over again. Even if I grow old, those memories will always make me feel young at heart.
I was so occupied with my thoughts that I didn’t notice that we just arrived in Masbate City. So I picked my bags and got ready. Those fun and colorful grade school days are over, but I must prepare myself for a long and more challenging trek.

happy samebrk! (haha)

yoh yoh! just got back from puerto galera today. im still too tired to tell stories right now, hehe. hope i find time in the next couple of days, since its vacation time. im just happy to say that nothing happened in my return to puerto galera, unlike my first trip there, which is the main reason why i really wanted to come back. i don't want to reiterate more what happened on that trip. that was really fun, except for that very unfortunate event. it was a perfect vacation minus the last day.

anyways, i was supposed to tell things from my happy vacation and not from the first one! haha.. so there, we tried everything there is in the white beach. we swam as if there's no tomorrow, got ourselves burned under the sun, drank a little bit, danced like rock stars, partied and flirted, did some snorkling and island hopping, shopped for pasalubongs, eat a lot and more! it was a beautiful way to end the sem! okay, i'll end it here. i also can't wait to go home to masbate tomorrow! see you guys next sem!

(sabi nga ni kuya shakey's) happy samebrk!

burn tambayan burn!

( i know this incident has been almost a week ago, and the "tension" or the anger rather, has slowly been vanishing, but i really wanted to blog about this since i wasn't able to because of the hell week. i just have some things to say)

no doubt, somebody burned our kubo tambayan. the only question now is, why? why burn our kubo? why our kubo in the first place?

just a small background about the incident: the last time i was able to make tambay in the kubo was last october 8. according to the guard (supposedly) on duty, at around 9-10 pm the following day (october 9), he heard a loud sound as if something exploded. then, what he saw was a kubo burning. all of the members had no idea of what has happened, until the following morning when i received a series of texts informing about the incident. a little doubtful, i went to see the kubo since i also had an exam that morning, and there lies nothing but charred woods and a bottle of red horse beer. you would never thought that at that same place once stood a colorful new kubo, complete with all the decorations and pictures and overcrowded by members who don't know how to fit themselves in that small home.

all of us are clueless of who mercilessly burned our beloved tambayan, but it gave rise to a lot of speculations. what could have been the possible reason or maybe reasons for it?

is it because of jealousy? is it because someone has been holding a deep hatred against us? is it frat-related? is it just a trip? is it because of something we haven't done or given to someone? is it done by the students who failed in our adviser's class? is it one of our members' enemy? is it an unknown enemy of the org? and the list goes on and on... i know naming names is a heavy allegation and even libelous, but ignoring the possibilities is stupidity. these are nothing but speculations, and we don't know how to prove them right.

to the arsonist/s: whatever your motives are, i want you to know that it would take more than just burning our kubo to bring us down.you may have succeeded in putting our tambayan into flame and turn it into ashes, but you haven't succeeded in stopping us towards our vision and in achieving prestige, in fact you have even contributed in making us again the talk of the town. we even take it as a compliment, for if we are not worth anything, you wouldn't even bother lift a finger on us. yes, it has affected us in a way at first, but it would no way break the strong bond this organization has established. it didn't stop the bright minds of these gifted members in planning for better solutions and wonderful plans. thanks even for this trial you have put through to the members, it made us even strongly bonded and prepared us for bigger challenges ahead. we will definitely rise from the ashes, and i hope you will be there to witness our high soar.

our newly renovated tambayan may have been burned, but the creativity, passion, and dedication will keep flaming in our hearts.

see you at the stones!

free wi-fi again...

yehey! i'm here again in narra taking advantage of the free wi-fi connection. yes, im wasting my time surfing the net when i should be studying for a final exam tomorrow! haha.. it's not that im confident or ussured that i'm gonna pass the exam, it's just that im so tired of studying. i feel my mind is going to explode! haha, okay that's exaggeration. honestly, i've been sleeping all day for days now. ang sarap ng feeling! especially when you know that the sem is going to an end. hay, can't wait for vacation...

i'm planning to come back to narra next sem. well, im still pondering on it. taking into consideration the amount of money i can save. imagine you have a home for a sem for only 700 pesos? haha, what an offer, right? plus, this new amazing facility which no other dorm can offer, a free wi-fi!

glad this week's over

wow this has been a very stressful week for me, and yet hell week is not over. nevertheless, i'm glad this week is finally over and that i was able to do whatever stuff i have had to do for this week, good enough i think. i had an exam and report in italian, dialogue and translations for spanish, chem report, and org stuff like the euro quiz and anniversary exhibit. imagine stuffing all that in one week! and what do you get? stress, haggardness, exhaustion! you just don't know relieved i am right now. plus the fact that this semester is soon coming to an end! something i've been wanting and dying to happen! im totally exhausted and i think i need a break. i'm not yet sure what to do this sembreak, i usually go home to my province (in masbate) to spend time with my family and high school friends. but this time, i'm thingking of doing something different for a change. i am planning to stay here in manila for a while, since i will be going home this christmas vacation. or go elsewhere with friends. i just hope that these are not just plans. haha..

i was glad with how our cultural night in euro turned out. it was really a great way to end the week! it was so fun! all of us, who remained, had a great time. im sorry for those who left early, much more to those who didn't show up at all. cheers to you all party people! haha..

last night, i also learned something. it was sort of a revelation about errr something. haha. of course i can't reveal it here! i just can't contain the shock i felt when i heard of it. hay, some people are just hard to understand. anyways, that's their life. they can do whatever they want.

finals week na next week di ba? bakit wala pang prof na nagseset ng date for an exam? darn.. i hate it when they extend classes.

up pep squad rocks!

finally! after a long wait, the up pep squad has taken back what was rightfully theirs, the uaap cheerdance competition title. our beloved pep squad has successfully blocked ust's salinggawi dance troupe's winning streak and stopped them from growling. the up's pride has again proven that they are worthy of our endless support and unwavering admiration.

i know it is already pointless to decscribe and elaborate how great our pep squad was. because if you were able to witness their jaw dropping performance, their dance says it all! they rocked the big dome with their unbelievable stunts and fantastic dance moves that no other pep squad team in the uaap and even in the philippines could ever rival! yan ang tatak up! di matatawaran ang creativity at originality!

the only regret i have is that i wasn't able to witness live that historic victory for the up community. oh well, i could have lost my voice from shouting if i have been there, so that's the good thing. but if i did, i know it's worth it. the very slim margin between up and ust's scores doesn't bother me, knowing how far some people go all for the sake of winning. the important thing is that, up did win. what bothers me is feu's drop to third place. i think they deserve the second spot that the ust has got. watching ust's performance, you wouldn't think that they were the five-time cdc champion! that was hmm.. below the uaap standards. their performance doesn't even deserve a third place prize! it should have been given to either adamson or ateneo.

anyways, congratulations to the up pep squad! you have made the whole up community proud. you guys rock! the best of the best! continue to be the best and stand above the rest!

unibersidad ng pilipinas! matatapang, matatalino, walang takot kahit kanino!

why am i still single?

according to tickel.com:

you're single because you don't want to settle.

You, more than others, have a fairy tale fantasy of how things should be. Ever since you were a kid, you've probably dreamed of the perfect wedding, coming home to a white picket fence, dog, and 2.2 kids (how does that work, anyway?). When someone asks what you're looking for, you don't skip a beat: You're likely to have a handy checklist that details your perfect partner. Hair and eye color, height, religion, education, career, interests, the list goes on.

While it's great to have standards — Hey, you shouldn't have to settle, after all — there's one slight glitch in your master plan: No one has made the grade in real life — at least not yet. Next time you're out with someone, keep yourself from mentally checking that list, and give love — and others — a chance. That special someone who you've written off may be perfect for you after all...

how evil am i?
